I decided to write this book in hopes of bringing awareness to the emotional and physical aspects of losing a child. I wanted to reach out to mothers, fathers and families that have had to endure the horrible tragedy of saying goodbye to their baby or babies, born and unborn. It's the hardest thing I've ever had to do.
I also wanted to let people know the importance of having, and giving, the respect a grieving parent, especially the mother, needs when something like this happens.
In addition, I wanted to bring to light the importance of getting help when you are faced with such loss.
You've been through something that will forever change your life, and it's OK to seek professional help through counseling, and sometimes, medication. That’s not showing weakness or lack of faith in God. Life is difficult, and sometimes, very unforgiving. Add the death of a child, and it can be unbearable.
I hope that my story will help you, or someone you know, get through the loss of a child. If I can help just one mother or father, then I've done what I set out to do. May God bless and keep you, my dear friend. Know that you are not alone. You are a part of a very unique group of blessed people. You are a mother to an angel, and that's a special honor to hold. A very difficult position, but a special one.
